Song Review: “My Age”-BIZZY

The fifth in a string of singles, “My Age” by BIZZY has made its debut. The upbeat and pop-y instrumentals paired with catchy lyrics make for a song that’s easy to bop your head and dance around singing to. It's reminiscent of the faster paced songs on Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour

The lyrics talk about the anxieties of being in an age gap relationship, wondering what the other person sees in her and if it would be the same if they were the same age. It's anxious in a “waiting for the other shoe to drop” kind of way. She questions if this would have been the same if they were the same age and even almost asks why her partner never got married.

This song is so fun and I already know every word. BIZZY has a very distinct style that doesn’t feel like most pop songs to me and this single is no different. The instrumentals are lively and energized and don’t necessarily match the anxiousness of the lyrics- which as I have mentioned before is my favorite. As always, BIZZY’s vocals are strong and spirited. “My Age” as well as other singles are streaming now (check out “Just Yet” and “Anybody” to hear my favorites).
