Song Review: “If You Know You Know” by Kyndal Inskeep

Kyndal inskeep is a small Nashville singer/songwriter! She grew popularity from her song “Honest”, as it gained traction from a group called Songhouse Co. That’s a large group of local artists who get together and write songs with random prompts, and are able to show their talents!  Once she jumped in popularity, we have been graced with such emotional, powerful songs! The newest song definitely fits in that category.

If You Know You Know has a message of letting others know they aren’t alone. No matter what journey you may be on, or where you are in it….you should keep going. It’s a positive message that it will get better.

    Life is so good

Even when it doesn’t seem so good

     It’s a little bit misunderstood

If you wonder if you should hold on you should

It starts very light instrumentally, with light piano and vocals; then slowly guides into a slight build for the chorus. There is an appearance of strings, and airy choir backup vocals. Overall, this song stays very low in terms of the instruments, but the lyrics make up for that. It’s such a powerful song, emotionally, that the lyrics alone are enough to draw attention.

It centers around a message of reality; that life gets hard and sometimes it’s difficult to navigate. The thing I love most about this song, though, is that it’s a message of holding on. If you hold on, push through, and stay strong it WILL get better. It’s a story of perseverance and strength. It truly speaks to hearts of many; being almost like a healing process. I know for me, it helps so much hearing that others experience the same things I do. It gives me the encouragement to keep going, and knowing that I can make it through!
